DuPage County Government / Municipal Government Data Distribution Program
Update Frequency
DuPage County will provide to municipal governmental agencies the following data and update frequencies:
Monthly Updates
- Real Estate File - Each month the County will provide on CD-ROM a current copy of a subset of the County Clerk's Real Estate file. This data file will contain selected fields from the Real Estate File for all tax parcels in the County.
Quarterly Updates
- GIS Data Coverage Files - Within one month of the end of each quarter (see schedule below), the County will provide on CD-ROM a current copy of the following GIS datasets:

*Please note that many of the datasets will be updated quarterly; however updates for some are limited to the frequency of updates as received from other agencies.
- Municipalities will receive files that include data for all of DuPage County. It is the responsibility of the municipality to extract subsets of these data files for their area of interest. The tax parcel data provided is copyrighted by DuPage County and is intended for use only by participating municipalities and their authorized agents. Provision of the data by municipalities to other agencies is prohibited without the written consent of the County.
- The above listed data will be provided in DXF (AutoCad), ArcInfo coverage, and ArcInfo shapefile formats.
- All GIS data will be provided in the NAD83 datum.
Specialized GIS Data Products
- Periodically the County will acquire specialized GIS datasets that would be of use to municipalities. Upon written agreement between the County and the municipalities, the County will provide copies of these datasets at an agreed upon nominal cost, above and beyond the normal GIS data distribution cost.
G.I.S. Training / Support
- It is the sole responsibility of participating municipal agencies to provide adequate staffing and resources to make use of the data provided. The County will provide up to eight hours of support and training per quarter to support user needs related to the processing of datasets sent to each municipality.
Cost
For municipalities that wish to use the County GIS the cost will be $5,400 per year, to be billed quarterly.
