The Coroner’s office is located in the county seat of Wheaton, Illinois, approximately 30 miles west of Chicago. DuPage County has a population approaching 1 million. It occupies approximately 350 square miles and remains one of the fastest growing suburban areas of the Midwest. DuPage County is the second most populous county in the state of Illinois.

The Coroner’s Office serving DuPage County is committed to providing the citizens of DuPage County the most professional cost effective death investigations falling under its jurisdiction. In 2009 the coroner’s office investigated or reviewed nearly 4000 deaths. Although the population is nearly one million, DuPage County recorded only 14 homicides in 2009. In fact, several years ago DuPage experienced a 13-month period in which not a single homicide occurred. This fact is unequaled in the entire country for a county with a population of this size and makes DuPage an excellent place to live, raise a family and work.
