Public Transit Home
The private automobile is currently dominant in DuPage; however, existing public transportation provides indispensable service to many who live and work in the County. DuPage County has three primary types of public transit services: commuter rail, general public bus service and vanpools, and special needs service (paratransit). In addition, there are several park-n-ride lots to support commuter's use of transit.
In addition to existing transit service, DuPage County has been working proactively to enhance transit amenities and services. Included in these efforts are implementation of the DuPage Area Transit Plan participation in the Cook-DuPage Corridor Study, and implementation of the DuPage County Transit Shelter Program.

County Farm Road Transit Study
The second public open house for the County Farm Road Transit Study will take place at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Hanover Park City Hall. The meeting will summarize the consultant findings and provide recommendations for public comment. Metra Strategic Planning & 2013 Budget Hearings:
Metra will have its second round of public meetings for its Strategic Plan. The DuPage County meeting will occur on Tuesday, November 7, 2012, at the Wheaton Village Hall from 4 PM to 7 PM. It is an open house format, so feel free to stop by any time during those hours. Concurrently at the Wheaton Village Hall, Metra will hold an open house to receive public comments on its proposed 2013 Budget.

RTA 2013 Budget Hearings
On Tuesday, November 7, 2012 from 4 - 7 PM in the Wheaton Village Hall, the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) will hold a public hearing to receive public comments on the Authority’s Annual Budget, Two-Year Financial Plan, and Five-Year Capital Program.
